The opening night of the Neath Comedy Festival 2019 is headlined by the Godfather of British alternative comedy, the multi-award winning comedian, actor, author, broadcaster and playwright ARTHUR SMITH. Known for his appearances on TV’s Grumpy Old Men along with QI, Have I Got News For You, The One Show, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and more. His stand-up topics range from vigorous yodelling to mediaeval literature via death by drink. His delivery is relaxed and sardonic, but his shows are a surprising, dark and witty treat.

Arthur is simply one of our funniest and most original comic performers and is guaranteed to bring hilarity, mirth and scandal.

This is a full night of stand up comedy featuring support acts and a compere.

“Arthur Smith is an almost shamanic figure on the UK comedy scene; a warrior-poet who combines a love of language with a healthy disregard for some of society’s formalities. “ – Comedians Comedian
